last weekend Stevie jnr and I set about creating this roman chariot bas relief from 100mm limestone, we created it utilising Wcam2k software from a photograph converted to a 3d image. The programme was then executed on our Prussiani Champion 60 5 axis Cnc normally used by us for the many Granite and quartz worktops we produce at Planet Granite however,as the following photos show this is a very versatile and and accurate machine and with the addition of the Wcam2k software the possibilities are endless. We have now mounted the stone carving on the wall behind our bar area at our stone showroom at Devitts Green Farm.
Wcam2k software in action.
The 400mm granite saw blade was used for the majority of the excavation of the stone.
Followed by 20mm diamond router cutter.
Starting to look like something now…
Fine resolution was achieved with polychristaline v cut engraving tool
Hi, I’m Steve. I run Planet Granite from a custom-built farm in Warwickshire, where I live with my family. The team and I are really passionate about crafting and installing granite and quartz worktops, as you’ll see from my blog. You’ll find before and after photos and examples of different designs and stone to inspire you. Happy reading!
